Welcome to the extended study

We’re so glad you’re here. This page is designed to take the teaching a little deeper for those who want to spend more time reflecting on the Scriptures and the truths God is revealing. Whether you are studying on your own, with a friend, or gathering with a small group, you are welcome to use these materials in whatever way helps you grow in your walk with the Lord.

Feel free to copy and paste the questions, Scriptures, and notes to share with others or to build your own study time. Our hope is that these teachings become a place where meaningful conversations, prayer, and deeper understanding can grow.

You’re invited to return each week as new teachings are added. Together we continue learning, seeking His wisdom, and growing from glory to glory as we walk with Jesus.                 ~Love Rhoda

The Journey of the Garden: A 5-Day Study on Life, Loss, and New Beginnings

Day 1: The Surrender in the Garden

Scripture: Matthew 26:36–46 The Reflection: Before the cross, there was the garden of Gethsemane. Jesus was "sorrowful and troubled." He didn't skip the hard emotions, sister; He felt them deeply. He asked for the cup to pass, but ultimately whispered, "Your will be done."

  • The Heart-to-Heart: What are you holding onto so tightly that it’s hurting your hands? Sometimes the bravest thing we can do is tell God, "I’m scared, but I trust You."

  • Journal Prompt: What is one thing I need to "leave in the garden" today so I can walk in God’s peace?

Day 2: The Loneliness of the Cross

Scripture: Luke 23:32–43 The Reflection: Even while He was suffering, Jesus was looking out for others—He promised a thief a place in paradise and made sure His mother was cared for. He understands what it’s like to feel "poured out" for everyone else.

  • The Heart-to-Heart: You aren't "unseen" in your sacrifices. Every time you show up for your family or your sisters when you're tired, He sees you. He was lonely on that cross so that you would never have to face a single trial alone.

  • Journal Prompt: When do I feel most alone, and how can I invite Jesus into that specific space today?

Day 3: The Holy Mystery of the Middle

Scripture: John 19:38–42 The Reflection: Saturday is the day of the "In-Between." The body was in the tomb. The disciples were grieving. It felt like a period, but it was actually a comma. We call it "Holy Saturday" because even the waiting is sacred.

  • The Heart-to-Heart: We often try to rush out of the "middle" of our problems, don't we? But God does deep work in the quiet. He is refining your heart and building your strength while you wait for the stone to roll.

  • Journal Prompt: What has the "silence" of my current season taught me about God’s character?

Day 4: The Sound of Your Name

Scripture: John 20:11–18 The Reflection: I love this moment. Mary Magdalene is crying at the tomb, thinking someone stole her Lord. She doesn't recognize Jesus until He says one word: "Mary." He called her by name, and her world shifted.

  • The Heart-to-Heart: He isn't just a "High Priest" or a "Historical Figure." He is your Brother and your Friend. He knows your name, your favorite coffee, and the things that keep you up at night. He is calling your name today, too.

  • Journal Prompt: If I sat down for coffee with Jesus today and He called me by name, what is the first thing I would want to tell Him?

Day 5: The Power of the "Sent" Sister

Scripture: Matthew 28:16–20 The Reflection: The story doesn't end at the empty tomb. It ends with a mission. Jesus tells the women and the disciples to "Go." He gives them authority and promises to be with them "always, to the end of the age."

  • The Heart-to-Heart: You are an Empowered Sister. Your story—the messy parts, the "desert" parts, and the "resurrection" parts—is meant to be shared. You are a light for the other 999 sisters who are still looking for hope.

  • Journal Prompt: Who is one person in my life who needs a "gentle nudge" of hope this week? How can I be a "Big Sister" to them?

A Closing Prayer for the Week

Lord, thank You for the five days, the forty days, and the eternity You’ve given us. Bless my sister as she walks through this study. Let these truths move from her head to her heart. Remind her that the same power that cracked open the tomb is currently at work in her life. We love You. Amen.
